En la primera de estas jornadas se mezcló la poesía y la narrativa en una tarde, donde el calor se sofocó entre los participantes a base de café y lecturas de estos escritores. Entre los invitados estuvieron el poeta holguinero Eliécer Almaguer y Eldys Baratute, quienes presentaron los títulos Canción para despertar al Forastero (Ediciones La Luz, 2011) y Vuelve a cantar la cigarra (Editorial Gente Nueva, 2011). Este último título recoge a un grupo importante de escritores con narraciones dedicadas a la obra de Onelio Jorge Cardoso, nuestro cuentero mayor.

    Para la presentación de Canción… se invitó al poeta y editor pinareño José Raúl Fraguela, quien encontró en el texto el verdadero lenguaje de la poesía. Entre sus temas se destaca la presencia de la muerte, donde se hace un recorrido que sirve para diseccionar lo realmente poético y trascendente dentro del libro con lo meramente cotidiano. Esta aparición en varios momentos determina lo más representativo de este cuaderno.

    Entre las veintiséis narraciones de los autores reunidos en Vuelve… se hacen visibles un conjunto de los autores cubanos más importantes de los últimos años en su versión como escritores para niños, ahí se encuentran: Miguel Barnet, Nelson Simón, Luis Caissés, Enrique Pérez Díaz e Ivette Vian. El trovador Reinier Fernández Font fue quien amenizó la tarde mediante un conjunto de temas recurrentes en la nueva trova cubana. También hizo uso de la palabra la editora Carelsy Falcón, quien presentó este título compilado por Eldys Baratute y que incluye varias generaciones de escritores.
